STONE
Stone by stone A monument to your name Stone by stone Head down in shame Brick by brick And log by log I lay the stone, Through mired bog, Where I work alone in silent pain To build your shrine, my tomb. Day by day Stone by stone And day by day I build my chapel To you I pray Stone by stone As I’m not afraid That stone by stone Within this shrine I’ll be buried alone To not survive Stone on stone, I will not cry— I must atone- And build Day by day- On weary bones I feel you leave; My heart is stone Within it’s walls I am alone In this empty prison Made of stones
First poem I’ve written in a while :-)
