The Terrors of Trying
I never go out, it'll likely be cold
Inside my house while I become old
The terror of trying is too much to bear
Where wandering worries waft in from out there
My windows are shut, shutters shaping so soft
The sunlight streaming where worries should waft
Twisting and tumbling through thousands of thoughts
Of days and dreams once real and now not
Regrets reach the surface, bob, and then sink
For fear of failure I'm forced not to think
Silence speaks softly as she sweeps sounds away
Gently I sleep as the sunlight turns gray
Nothing can grow that knows only shade
Inside my house where my choices are made
I cannot fail if I never try
Inside my house is where I will die
