Survey: Is the report function working?

News & Discussion

I have submitted 100s of reports. I write an explanation for at least 60% of them. I have video evidence for several recent instances including abusive chat and suiciding throwers. I have had only 2 action messages EVER!

It seems that the report function simply isn’t working.

I’m a console scrub. It takes ages to type on a controller but it seems to be pointless. Reporting is supposed to be helping the community but it just seem to be a waste of time. Forget all the other things in this game that can tilt you - Blizzard’s lack of action against reported players (or lack of acknowledgement of it) is tilting and contributing to the general toxicity.

What sort of results are you guys seeing on reports? I’m interested in: Which platform do you play on? Which region are you in? Approximately how many reports have you made? How many action messages have you received?

I feel like it’s probably just a console issue but I’d like to read others’ experiences to get a better understanding.

Thanks.

I get 2-3 action messages per day to be honest. Good reports and reliable sources will yield results.

That’s interesting. I have video evidence of persistent toxic voice chat and repeated suiciding. Yet reporting these incidents yielded no notification message. Which platform are you on?

I have video ev

PC. I've never sent in video evidence or reported past the in game reporting system. But like I said, I have a constant string of "thank you for reporting" blah blah blah.

I've had one ever on console despite reporting one or more most sessions. My theory is that because console reporting is newer then players don't have a history of being reported and if the system is automated then players haven't accumulated enough reports yet.

3 messages, but i've always taken a screenshot, amd sent it to anyone I could on the enemy team and mine to report them.

The true tilt is that the reports don't really matter when trolls can just make a new account. For free. That's the most fucked up part since Blizz refuses to do harare or IP bans. It really demotivates you to even use that godawful keyboard on PS4 and go the extra mile in repoeting.

You don't always get notifications

My understanding was that any player you reported who later got Blizzard action against them resulted in a notification. If,m Blizzard are taking action but NOT notifying the players doing the reporting (as you seem to be suggesting) then that feels like a flaw in the system. The reporting players will stop improving the community if they don’t feel like their reports are being used.
