Donovan Mitchell is the next Westbrook. 27 ppg but on 24 shots per game. Shooting that volume at 45% is not conducive to winning. That’s my hot take.
However he is a rookie and the Jazz don’t have shot creators. I️m hoping he will keep getting more efficient if he has some more talent around him.

He had 0 turnovers though. Not very Westbrook-esque at all.

Mitchell reminds me more of Wade, who had a great playoffs as a rookie too........shooting 45% and he turned out alright.
Westbrook is in his 11th year and shooting sub 40% this playoffs, 41% for his playoff career at 51% TS. So honestly Mitchell is already scoring better in the playoffs than Westbrook ever really has, not to mention Mitchell is the #1 option and Westbrook played virtually all his playoff career with KD taking more defensive attention.

That depends on how he approaches the game. Let's say that he's never all that efficient, but willing to defer to teammates in the clutch... that right there would make him a hell of a lot more effective than Westbrook.

Exactly. If he is allowed to play a little more off ball, and they get the weapons where their offense doesn’t rely as much on isolation, he hopefully will make some changes and be more efficient.

Well he was playing winning ball with Durant then. Since Durant left I admit he's been statpadding and ignoring defense, which isn't conducive to winning.

I️ would argue that their defense is carrying them for the most part and that shooting below the league average is still enough for them to win a playoff series.
Will it be enough to win in the second round? I️ would say no, especially considering that the warriors and rockets exist
