How can I tell if my device will work?

The supported way to check for device compatibility is to use the MintSIM app iPhone Android, the device checker, and the FAQ; but we don't give band level detail right now - so my process for power users.

NOTE : You will need an unlocked device. None of these steps will help you check that.

Google your phone model. Not "iPhone 6+" but A1522. Or SM-G870A, etc. Or go to IMEI.info and type in your IMEI.

You are looking for : * LTE. MintSIM works best with LTE devices. I wouldn't recommend a device only with GSM and HSPA compatibility. * LTE Bands 2 and 4 are a must. * LTE Band 12 is going to be great for you - better indoor coverage. Strong recommend. * VoLTE support is awesome, and strongly recommended. * WFC is available on these Android phones. * Tethering does work, both in compatible hotspots and in device.

For GSM/UMTS fallback : * GSM/UMTS Bands 2 or 4, depending upon your metro. * That being said, I almost never see GSM/UMTS necessary anymore.

Check the coverage map for info on the bands available in your market. * 4G LTE 1900 - Band 2 * 4G LTE 2100 - Band 4 * 4G LTE 700 - Band 12

Checking sites like IMEI info for band compatibility list is a great way to verify.

Band 66 is being rolled out for faster speeds in a few markets. Band 71 is the 600Mhz band; almost no devices yet. It'll be great to paint the country in Mint Green, but typically these sorts of rollouts take time.
