Really Great Poetry Because You Deserve It

Anxious animal,
Why do you run?
I wouldn't chase you.
It wouldn't be fun.

I'm not a cat.
I'm not a trap.
Nature is fine,
with you, where you're at.

You steal my food.
So much goes to waste.
Your house is a hole.
We have similar tastes.

It's cold outside.
Not much help there.
Why not take that step?
Come, enter my lair.

You might think, we humans,
We're all the same.
All that we plan,
It only brings shame.

Still, you don't even know.
How lucky you are.
To not have a past haunt you,
To not have to see far.

The future will come,
And find us both here,
You with anxiety,
But nothing to fear.
