Finding Partners

Finding partners to run away with online is unsafe and you are opening yourself up to some risks and dangers, such as being forced into human trafficking before you've even started your journey or meeting up with someone who ends up being dangerous. It's much safer finding a runaway partner through someone in real life in your community.

But - if you are going to do it, I can't stop you, so I may as well give you some advice!

Create a Skype account that is not linked to your identity in any way. Make sure you have no personally identifying information associated with it. Make a video call to make sure that this person is who they say they are. If you end up meeting in person, do so in a secured, public space and in a safe area, like a café.

Even with all of these precautions, you are not totally safe. Who knows - a trafficker could have a teenager that they're already trafficking video chat with you to lure you to them! So - tread carefully. Always remain anonymous until a level of trust has been made. In my opinion, the next safest thing after not going online to find a partner is meeting someone online who wants to run away, but choosing to get to know them well and not meet for a long time.

Please refer to Evo's post about finding runaway groups and partners online as well.

Good luck!
