Love
I gathered his heart in my hand and began to take to tooth
The changes that I began
And reviled within my youth
The arrangements of a prior engagement
Must be gaining truth
What must it be to love when the love is just the proof?
I want a simple life
But the world is not that so
To change, it is to grow
The broken, bent in tow
Tomorrow yields a fixed whisper
Wielding cauldron quickened fixture
Likening the cackling mixture
Of days that go by and nights that are drawn
Like curtains against dust
And love against lust
Locked away and stolen
A life that’s ours and ours alone
Best within a moan
Where fire scratches bone
But am I cold, still thinking silly?
Is the world too dark for light?
Are you more than what I’m thinking
Is it mine or not by right?
Can my heart still dare to bleed
From this, us, took to seed
Devotion, emotion, corrosion, or need
Be it all or be it none
Still we are if not we’re one
Give it all or call it done
Weaving tales where tales are spun
Knowing love’s no smoking gun
And fighting battles till wars are won
Embraced within a kiss
I calm the eerie dawn in turn
A shadow of my broken mind
a careless, careless burn
a teardrop stilled a broken bind
The olden grasp still clasped in mine
In love, in love divine.
I wrote this somewhat freestyle around a year ago and have been meaning to work on it a little. Any help would be appreciated, ty!
