Give me that roar of joy when my team wins a match
Or that feeling of despair when we miss out by a hair
Give me that feeling of unity, community, opportunity to see my team succeed
But take away the greed from the elite creed that run my team that see us as pounds and not as people
And take away the capitalism from the game, it's a baptism of fire that only sees the rich succeed
And take away the blanket of corruption and the self destruction of the leading governing bodies

Give me the pride to wear my colours on my chest, with the symbolism of the crest stitched onto my heart
And give us that voice to shout the names of our heroes with witty rhyme from songs of a previous time
But don't drown us out so your friends in a box can enjoy the game with their glasses of champagne
And don't tell us what we can say and what we can't say and don't move our game to a Tuesday to satisfy the TV broadcasters
And let us all get behind our troops in battle when tensions clash and colours collide
But let's also unify as one when tragedy strikes and let's support each other through all the tough times

Give me that feeling of elation and jubilation of seeing my nation qualify for a tournament
And give me that satisfaction of seeing the heroes of San Marino score a goal
Give me the glories and success stories of Albania, Iceland and Panama in recent times
And give opportunities to others who long for this hope of seeing their blood brothers represent their national colours on the world stage
Let every confederation have a representative nation
Give us more of New Zealand and less of Peru

Give me the 290 mile round trip to see my team beat Tooting and Mitcham 1-0 away on a rainy day
Give me the euphoria of promotion and the heartbreak of relegation
And let me see the many twists and turns of the preying curse that is the football pyramid
Give me the opportunity to explore the globe, to see more of the teams I've never seen before
Give me more Qarabag, Vojvodina, Stjarnan, FK Prishtina
Give me more Sturm Graz, Tromso, Pyunik Yerevan, Progres Niederkorn

Make every league an enjoyable experience for all to see
And give the game back to the workers, the earners, the society contributors
Don't price them out with extortionate ticket prices and expensive public transport
And I want less men in suits and more men with boots to rule the roost
Less of more of the same, let others fill the frame
