Fire and Ice
If Frost had seen the fire in your eyes,
Would he have been so fearful of the flames?
Or would he reassess the world's demise,
Convinced nothing so true could be to blame?
For me, his elemental eponym
Has been the genesis of greater vice.
Dispassion does not radiate, it dims.
Fire does not immobilize, but ice.
But when I get too cold, you warm me up.
And when you overheat, I cool you down.
And when we bicker, jeer, and interrupt,
Eventually we find the middle ground.
Together we have fought, but we have grown
To do the things we could not do alone.
