Sleeping In
I quit sleeping in.
Tired of dreaming my hopes up.
But now dreams creep into my day,
deep rooted,
they're not going away.
Get lost in Neverland.
Fantasize fairy-tales with happy endings,
'cause I know I'm not part of yours.
Clouds form around my head,
all the things I would've said,
to stop that glass slipper,
from shattering to pieces.
Fragile and bleak,
the box springs creak.
I toss and turn,
my imagination burns.
A fire so bright,
it could rival the stars,
if it was real.
