[M4F] A Queen's Downfall - Margaery Tyrell (Game of Thrones & Others)

(If you're interested in some other prompts/posts - here is one for Daenerys, here for other Game of Thrones characters, and here for some other fandoms - eg, Star Wars, Overwatch, Superheroines, and more...)

Margaery Tyrell. Beautiful, smart, ambitious - willing to do anything to become queen.

Let's explore where it all went wrong for her...

Bandits

Treachery. Somehow, Stannis has killed his brother, Margaery's husband - the way to become Queen. Convinced by Littlefinger, she and her brother flee the scene, back to Highgarden.

But it is a long, and treacherous, road. And it isn't a surprise when their road is blocked by a half dozen armed bandits, looking threatening.

What is a surprise is the way in which they dispatch the escort, and then capture a prize beyond imagination - Margaery herself...

Blackmailed

The Faith Militant is afoot, prowling the streets of the capital, looking for any excuse to put a noble on trial. Margaery is aware, no doubt, that her brother would be a target for these religious extremists - but he is safe for now. After all, there are none who can bear witness truthfully to having seen him commit those acts.

Except that it turns out that there are witnesses, and that I control them. To what lengths will she go to protect her brother, her position - herself?

Lannister's Revenge

It wasn't quick. Cersei made sure of that - death in the explosion would have been too sweet, for what she wished on her rival.

Instead, she had her arrested, dragged in chains before her. And in front of the whole court, the former queen was given to me - to punish, to own, as I see fit...
