Chance we’ll be able to add BuzzCard to Apple Wallet?
At the WWDC keynote this afternoon, Apple announced that certain schools’ student ID cards will be able to be added to Apple Wallet on both iPhone and the Apple Watch. On their website, it lists currently participating schools as Alabama, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Oklahoma, Santa Clara, and Temple.
I’d love to see GT join those schools

Even if this happens, do note that a huge portion of building access control readers still exclusively use the 125khz RFID chips, which can not be emulated from a phone, so it may not be as glamorous as one hopes. And as far as i am aware, the current POS terminals used by GT dining and others do not
Also, in the current state, the POS terminals used by GT dining and others do not accept NFC BuzzCard entry. Not sure if that is intentional or if it's a feature that isn't ready yet.
For the uninformed, POS stands for point of sale, although both definitions could apply here lol
Part of the changes supposedly is to enable access to the hardware to allow iOS devices with NFC to interoperate with HID readers. Not everything on campus has that, but a lot of stuff does.
iPhones do not have an antenna that can communicate over 125 kHz, only 13.56 mHz. No software upgrades can change a lack of hardware. Some readers on campus do support 13.56 mHz communication, though that doesn't mean that it'll work with your iPhone out-of-the-box.
