Linux GDrive mount

Unix*

Is RClone mount the most stable option for mounting Google Drive on Linux? Speed doesn't matter too much, just needs to be as stable as a local drive (will be used for automated upload of a few, small files per day - not more than 20 GB per day in roughly 50 MB chunks).

If it's not important to you, that the files are directly available in google drive, you can use rclone cache with "offline uploading": https://rclone.org/cache/#offline-uploading

That way files written into the mount directory will be written to a local folder at first, and then after some time uploaded to google drive.

It will be much more reliable. Rclone mount without cache isn't reliable at all, for writing.

You! I like you.

mount is still considered experimental last I checked, any reason you can't use sync or copy?

The entire stack of applications expects a local filesystem, but Google Drive works much better cost wise (if the mounts works, that is)

I know some people have Plex libraries pointed to rclone mounts, so it's possible it will work for you also, but there's only one way to find out.
When I tried converting a file with ffmpeg inside the mount, it errored out spectacularly so I had to convert locally then rclone move to gdrive. Different programs react to access time and I/O buffers differently, so you'll just have to try it and see.

I recommend plexmediadrive, I've had a much more stable experience with it.
