Insomniac's Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep.
I've counted 50 million sheep.
It's now past midnight.
Damn my plight!
Dear Lord, I need some sleep tonight.

The hands on Big Ben tick away.
It's gonna be one dreadful day.
It's two and I'm still counting ewe.
Oh, Mr. Sandman! Where are you?

I've counted 50 million more.
It's time to even out this score.
Next time they bleat I'll nab the bunch
And make lamb chops tomorrow for lunch.
