Photosynthesis

I've watered these plants

My entire life.

They're astonishingly green

And vibrant;

Inhaling, exhaling gasses

Into the atmosphere.

Giving me life.

Talking to me.

Nurturing me.

And yet,

I'm beginning to suspect

That they have no roots,

No seeds

From which they originate.
