I'm on the part of the Sleeper quest where I have to kill Cabal with precision shots. Do these kills need to be made with the IKELOS hand cannon? Or can I equip it as my energy weapon, and get the kills with my primary/power? Just curious... I know the other places in this questline where "Equip IKELOS and... (fill in the blank)" means it can be in the slot, not in-hand to complete. Thanks!

You can get kills with whatever.
Additionally, when you have one of the EP guns, you can also say, have the shotgun equipped, and get crits with any random kinetic or energy weapon, and that also works.
However, noteworthy, it does have to be on mars. I personally had a period where I overlooked that bit and was killing the right enemies in the wrong place. But yeah, doesn't have to be with the ikelos.
Whats wrong with the ikelos handcannon? there are other options too. I did it with the ikelos sniper
I love that handcannon. Had to use it a bit today in Heroics (finally finishing the Sleeper quest) and with an energy recoil mod especially, it's great. Fires so fast.

Anytime you need Precision Kills, a weapon with Explosive Rounds isn't a great idea. It's possible for the bullet to not do enough damage for the kill but the explosion does and it won't count as a Precision Kill (unless they fixed that).
I used Jade Rabbit, great for precision kills and it keep loading the weapon the more precision hits you land.

Hope you're right. I'm not good with hand cannons (though I don't mind this one) so I'm gonna power thru with DARCI I think.

Yeah, someone used MIDA in PvE. Imagine that...
you only need an ikelos weapon equipped. i did it with midnight coup + imset hc4 + sleeper on my alts. darci is gonna take a while unless you have a good source of power ammo
the HC has rampage so 1 shot headshots will make it go by slightly faster
It doesn't take long, just farm the Cabal lost sector and after a couple runs you'll have it done.
