Chris Pratt's speech on God has made me loose respect for him.

Holy shit, this seems to be turning around in favor of logic and sense...all my negative comments are positive now...we'll see what happens. Don't let me down logical people!

Edit: I should have known that on a more Conservative sub like this one that this topic wouldn't have gone well. I'm sorry, believing in a all powerful man in the sky whose son (himself) that died on some wooden beams to himself to resolve sin that he created would not have gone over so well with others here. I'm wrong and clearly religion is right, that's why the world is in such a good state. My bad.

PLEASE downvote all my comments because you believe in said sky dad. I feel sorry for all of you that do. Grow up.

Looking forward to my inbox in the morning. I love all the "I'm right with no evidence and you're wrong because you're right" responses!

Yeah, if you believe that's fine, but keep the shit to yourself and not push your BELIEFS on kids at a fucking awards show. No one cares, you're wrong based on every single piece of evidence (and lack thereof) that we have...I liked the guy before, I still do, but it's the "I'm right and believe what I believe" type of mentality that just disturbs me.

He's one of those people that I wish I knew wasn't a religious nutty...now that's what I'll think when I see him. We're better off without believing fairy tales and I fear stuff like this will make it more popular. It doesn't need to be.

Downvote all you want, he should have kept his mouth shut on the subject, especially in the avenue he chose to do it in. Let's reach out to young impressionable children just like sick religions always do.

Chris Pratt not being afraid to share his faith in God is what makes me respect him even more. He might not make the great films in the world, but it's good to see that there are celebrities still out there that believe and haven't sold out to the weird culture of Hollywood. Plus, he has a whole entire career ahead of him.

And posts like this are proof that atheists hate Christians.

I don't understand. Are you saying celebrities who don't believe have sold out to the weird culture of hollywood? Weird culture? I'm not following.

No, I don't "hate" Christians but they certainly are mentally and morally misguided, logically misguided, and can't seem to do anything right without forcing their beliefs on others or blaming what they do because "God".

I actually care about the mental well being of others and to me, believing in a religion, is not mentally well.

Off topic, but why are you so bothered by downvotes?

All the atheists I know act more like Christians than Christians do. Christians have no respect for God and always expect something in return for the good deeds they do. They also judge and gossip and discriminate and act like a giant cult. I can usually spot a Christian just by the way they speak because it is so fake.

And atheists and non-believers tend to be people who love to curse, are arrogant, have smug looking faces, and tend to be goody-goody health nuts or anime geeks that bullied A LOT back when they were in school. They also think they are so perfect and make no mistakes and in love with themselves so much because they are so full of it.

And you're not a Christian and you have NO say on who is and isn't a Christian. I know I'm not perfect, but what you non believers don't seem to understand is that good works DON"T save you and WON'T get you into Heaven, your faith in Jesus Christ DOES.

So saying that is fine but atheists hate christians?

Thanks for proving my point

"Atheists are weebs (and apparently health nuts)! Also, they're bullies!" You sound a bit like a bully

The Bible...you know that religious book written and Created by the Creator? Yeah, it says what makes and what doesn't make a true Believer. A true Christian.

No one these days is. So everyone is going to Hell if you want to believe in such bullshit.

If you think that religion is a mental illness you start to think of religious people as second class. Which is wrong.

Except creationists. If you think dinosaurs and tons of science is fake, you’re misguided and not well.

-3
AndroidVegetaOP•

My family is full of drug addicts which many think of second class. I don't class anyone based on their beliefs or mental issues, we're all PEOPLE.

But to sit here and say stupid shit like "except creationists" shows your own bias and judgments. Creationists deny and push away science and "tons" of science JUST AS ALL OTHER RELIGIOUS PEOPLE. To believe in something like a GOD...is far more outrageous than not believing in dinosaurs IMO.

4
SMDOMW294•

Your family is filled with drug addicts...that says it all really. I think God everyday I grew up with an educated family that loved and stills loves me and low class trash family like yours that probably gets your groceries from 7-Eleven.

-3
SMDOMW294•

Actually you're delusional and God is not going to have a nice talk with you when you die. God bless you.

-5
AndroidVegetaOP•

Delusional is believing something with no proof. I won't indulge you because I believe you're trolling and looking for a fight but if you can give me one single proof that a god or gods exist I will believe wholeheartedly right now.

That’s not a typo. That’s not knowing the correct word.

5
WiggyZiggy•

AKA a typo

2
PlatinumAltaria•

I don't see how it matters.

7
AndroidVegetaOP•

None of the posts here matter and to me this matters because it's forcing a religion and belief that shouldn't be forced. We should, as a species, have moved past this shit 200 years ago when we actually started to figure out that gods and religions were statistically and scientifically bullshit.

2†
PlatinumAltaria•

How is it "forcing" to mention it?

10
AndroidVegetaOP•

Because it's on a public platform in front of millions. He shouldn't have been allowed to do it. Saying "God EXISTS" is forceful to me.

-1
PlatinumAltaria•

That's retarded.

7
TIRAICHBADFTHR•

“Saying "God EXISTS" is forceful to me.”

I love that you guys are like this because it’s going to make the resurgence of Christianity so much easier when the youth see how people like you act.

6
StuffNameYay•

Saying words that I might hear is forcing me to believe you!!

5
The_Real_McQueen•

If you were a true athiest, you wouldn't care what anyone else believes. The fact that you're upset about what Chris Pratt said in his speech means you clearly aren't a true athiest.

I can practically feel your hatred from your post, so regardless of the religious aspect of what Chris Pratt said, what is so wrong with telling the young people who watch MTV that they are loved, and to spread love?

Instead of spreading more hatred like you're trying to

7
WiggyZiggy•

No True Scotsman fallacy

3
PaterkStur•

Because he didn’t just tell them that they are loved, he told them that god is real like it’s an undeniable fact which isn’t something we should be saying to children

1
uuftah•

I didn’t find him to be pushy. Just aware of his platform. Everyone deserves to know that they are loved.

On the other hand, his rule of believing in Christ is what gives you grace and forgiveness is bullshit. You are forgiven no matter what. It seems a little manipulative.

Also, WHO THE FUCK CAN PEE after they poop? Like. You always pee first. It’s not a choice?

2†
AndroidVegetaOP•

Yes, aware of his platform...just like a pushy preacher trying to instill bullshit and more lies on people.

I'm sorry you believe. Fuck I wish people would get over this shit. Some planet we live on with a all knowing all powerful being above us. I love how all the miracles stopped the moment science and cameras came around LOL.

1
TIRAICHBADFTHR•

You are definitely not forgiven if you don’t accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior.

1
uuftah•

Where does it say that anywhere.

Yea after finding out about his speech, he became less appealing for me. There's a platform for that and that award show wasn't it.

I don't care if you believe, but these god speeches have always come across as so phony sounding and pretentious. Sorry.
