They'll definitely bring more intensity than Denmark did against us, that's for sure.
Here's a hot take: A Peru win doesn't look likely at this stage.
Would a draw be the best result here? It would mean France still have something to play for against Denmark as other results may knock them out, while a draw for Peru might make for an open and expansive final game.
Maybe, but a draw would have still left us relying on a result from the France v Denmark match.
Say we win the Peru match 2-0. If Peru had won today, our 2-0 win against them would put us through guaranteed. Because Peru didn't win today, we could beat them 2-0 or 8-0 in the next match and we'd still be sweating on the result from the France v Denmark match. I know which I'd have preferred.

Honestly, think the most likely and best result is France winning both games. I don't care for pride, if Peru has nothing to play for the better chance we have. Their desperation just won't be there if they go down a goal.
the problem with france winning here is that they may not play for a win against denmark, since they would be guarenteed to come first with a draw
If they lose to Denmark they come second and may have to play Argentina. Who would want this possibility?
of course they are not gonna play for a lose, but they may settle with a draw, which would knock us out

Ideally that will be countered by France resting some players for the Denmark match, meaning the fringe players who come in will be playing for their own spot and will want to perform.
Good point about if we score first against them. In that case it might be good if France smash them in the second half here to really demoralise them.
It does mean we end up relying on France to beat Denmark, which is not a comfortable situation (I'd prefer controlling our own fate), but that was always a likely scenario.
