FUELING. Aside from carbs, water and salts ...

Hi Reddit,

I am a keen cyclist looking to step up my game. I have been doing quite a lot research on fueling for your body during high intensity work outs but would like to hear what you guys think works best for you.

In my research I have learned that the human body is extremely complicated and at a chemical level the interactions are immense. I have also come to the conclusion that the human body is very good at regulating itself but I do not think it is such a good idea to be messing around too much with crazy supplements.

In saying that, aside from the essentials, Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen and the various Salts what if anything do you guys take and think works well for fuel?

Thanks in advance.
