Does anyone think that Cu Alter’s and Medb’s relationship is somewhat sad?

To elaborate I was just thinking of the “canon” relationships of FGO when I remembered Medb and Cu Alter. I know for a fact that Medb does truly love Cu Alter, heck she created him as everything she dreamed of in a man from a man who she idolized as a true man. Despite this I don’t think there’s a moment where Cu Alter reciprocates the feeling of love to her, let alone really acknowledges, I mean even the other Cu’s acknowledge Medb more than Cu Alter; this speaks volumes to how twisted Medb is, and even makes me pity her even though I really don’t want to (I don’t hate, nor dislike her). This assumption may stem from me not remembering E Pluribus Enum correctly but I want to know what you guys think or know, about FGO most dysfunctional power couple.
