Need advice on xiaomi 8

Hi, I'm planning to get a xiaomi 8 phone but I can't decide if I should wait for the global rom or just get the china rom and install google stuff on it. How difficult is it to change from the china rom to the the global rom and is there any drawbacks to getting a china rom? How long till the global version is release?
