Idea to take interval photos like with the Street View App

As we know the Gear 360 takes great photos. The problem is, that there is no option to take a photos every X secounds.

But there is one way: The Street View App. With it, it is possible to take a photo with 30M (highest quality) ever eight secounds. Problem: The photos are stored in the App and there is no way to get it out, except if you upload it.

My idea is to develop an App, that makes the same thing as the Street View App, but store the photos into the photo-app or (if this is possible) direct into the sd-card which is in the camera.

So there is no need to hack the firmware or make other modifications. Is there anyone who can do that? I only have an iPhone, but for that, I can imagine to buy an Android.
