Aircon advice/recommendation

I am in the market for a split type airconditioner, probably within 12,000-15,000 BTU.

There are so many different models/types/features that I am a bit overwhelmed.

From what I can see, the Inverter type is the latest, but other than that I am not sure what features to look for.

If anyone has any advice on brands to buy/avoid and features that are worth having please let me know.
