Please don't bite my head off, but I need help with a tattoo I'm set to get soon

I've done my research, I understand the meanings, found the correct symbol, I'm swedish (if that means anything), and set the date for my tattoo.

Now I'm kinda freaked though. I plan on getting the vegvisir symbol tattooed directly in the middle on the back of my neck. I've gone through so much dumb shit so a protection symbol of sorts, especially finding my way, would be great. I know it's technically meant to be taken litterally, but if you are superstitious it could mean more personally.

Now I wanted to get a sketched "carved" look to it like the vegvisir on this page -> https://whatdewhat.com/15-cool-small-tattoo-symbols-meanings/ (this is not the version of it in getting. I'm doing the one directly from the manuscript)

But with all those lines I'm afraid it would accidently turn it into a whole different meaning. I know they were originally carved, but probably not like that. My friends don't deal with symbolism of any kind so they aren't of much help to me, and don't get why it would be such a big deal. I really love this style, but I'm worried about it affecting the symbol itself.

And if I can't do that style I'm trying to find a way to "spice" it up without changing it's meaning. I really don't want just a symbol slapped on, I want it done more artistically. I was thinking maybe I could add something small underneath? No runes or anything because the time periods are wonky, but I'm afraid if it was anything from any other culture it'd just mash badly.
