Fellow Malaysians, what are your personal experience involving corrupt practices, especially involving civil servants?
Personally, I only had one experience of giving money to a traffic officer without knowing that I was misled. The story was, I had to pay a fine of RM300 and the traffic officer said I can pay either to the counter or directly to himself at a discount. I thought it was a common practice for traffic officer to give some leniency to a first time summon. And since I was too naive I went and paid him directly and he said he will provide me with a receipt soon. So fast forward at the end of the year while renewing my road tax, I found out that the summon that was supposed to have been paid were not paid. I had to pay again at the counter. So quite foolish of me.
Any experiences you guys have whether small matter like mine or some other big things?
