Ships suddenly damaged

I have about 5 fleets across my empire that suddenly either need repairs or suddenly repaired themselves. They were not in any battles for a few years nor was were the short on ships. Yet oddly they were damaged. This has happened to me randomly over the course of several play throughs. Any thoughts? And the 4 other play throughs before this I had no mods and this one I have 3 mods. Thanks.
