The one

There is this girl that I have loved for the last 3 years. Basically, I met her on my semester break back at home along with my best friend of more than a decade (they went to the same college here). Anyway, from the moment we locked eyes, I felt explosions going off on the inside. We connected so well and evidently, there were fireworks. But even then, I knew I had to go back to college and having bruised from previous failed relationships I didn't have expectations, although it had never felt so hard to let go. Ideally, and in hindsight because this girl is the female version of who I am and have aspired to be better as a human being. All the changes in me in the past 3 years that has positively affected me, was because of her. It wasn't all smooth, as the first 6-8 months after leaving and a lot of misunderstandings of circumstances ruined our relationship. But the greatest part of it was how we slowly and tenderly built a friendship out of it. To this day, it feels like she's truly that one friend that I have left in my life that I can count on. She has had a lot of emotional baggage she has had carried all along, which I would not like to delve too deep into. But most importantly, I cherish and truly love what we have now. I love her and will love her till immortality, somehow I'm sure of this. She loves me too but I fear maybe she'll fall out of it someday and I'd have to swallow my emotions for her for the rest of our lives. The reason why I know she's the one is because most of the time, I don't even have spell it out for her. She just knows, and so do I. But she likes to take it slow, and I'll be forever patient and indebted to her priceless advice.

TL/DR : Met the love of my life 3 years back, fireworks. Shit went down. Built a friendship out of it. We love eachother still. Don't know what the future holds for us.
