My girlfriend is showing signs of severe depression, or am I overthinking it?
hey guys,
so basically my girlfriend of the past 5 months is on deployment.. I love her very much and we promised we'd never forget each other, I get attached very easily.. we had a love bug that bit us in the ass pretty good, planning our lives, etc.
I feel like we both (from divorce) know what we want better than most people.
But here's some facts..
I'm freshly divorced and she's still going through hers.. she has had some bad experiences on deployment.. and I can be kind of overbearing at times.
she used to email me and call me every single day but after she hit a certain wall they all stopped, I get maybe one email a day and she doesn't even say she loves nor misses me anymore, I asked her about it and she says my love made her feel claustrophobic. But even after me dialing it back for the past 3 weeks or so it still feels very distant and she says she needs to "love herself again". I can't reveal much more about those details without giving too much about her personal life. BUT!
right now in my opinion she's showing all the signs of becoming depressed, her friend is also telling me she's having some pretty big issues on the day to day but it completely devoted and enthralled by me, and although I told her before that I was tired of her ignoring me and threatened to break up she says she still wanted me and that she was sorry she just has "a lot on her mind". Is this a sign she's comfortable with me but isn't sure of her sadness? Everyone gets deployment blues its very common.. But I'm at the point where (in my mind) I can either not email her a few days and let her breathe or if I should tell her that I feel like she's depressed -- to talk to someone and that I'm here for her.
