Always wears a flame retardant jacket (looks like this: http://mammothworkwear.com/snickers-1557-flame-retardant-jacket-w1280h1024q90i4471.jpg). Minor burn marks on his arms. Always has a pair of goggles in his inside jacket pocket and occasionally wears them on his forehead.

Background: Blitz and his older sister Cyra were raised to be Hunters by their father. He was abusive to them, drilling into them every day that they needed to become Hunters so they could "get rich and take care of me when I get old". Even though their father wasn't a Hunter and didn't know what it took to become a Hunter, he still beat Blitz and Cyra and forced them to train every day. Blitz grew to hate him with all of his guts. He promised to himself that he would become a Hunter, but not for his father. No, when he became a Hunter, he would be able to escape and be free. He would have all of the resources to go far away and never see him again, like what Cyra did. She left when she turned 18 and never returned. Before she left, she told Blitz to come find her when he too became a Hunter

So that's what he did. He left the house when he turned 18 to become a Hunter. Unsurprisingly to himself, Blitz passed the Exams in his first year. He was then able to contact his sister through the Hunter website. She was able to teach him Nen. After that, Blitz and Cyra set out together, looking for work. They both found it by becoming Blacklist Hunters. However, Cyra was killed in action on a solo job while fighting a Hunter that had gone rogue. Blitz was devastated, and isolated himself for a year, pouring all of his grief into training his Hatsu. When he emerged, he was reborn, like a Phoenix, which is where his Hatsu comes from.

Personality: Blitz copes with all of the torment he has experienced in his life through dark humor. He hides his emotions through layers of sarcasm and wit. However, when things get serious, he knows when to turn it off. Blitz had an existential crisis when his sister died, and he has been searching for a purpose ever since then.

Hatsu: Soaring Phoenix (Transmission, Enhancement, Emission, Conjuration)

I made a post about this ability earlier but I've also adjusted it a little since then, but a lot of it will be the same.

Abilities:

• The Soaring Phoenix: The user sprouts fiery wings from their back on which they can fly around. These wings are incredibly hot and can melt solid steel. The size of these wings can be controlled as well. Thus, they can expand the wing in size in order to hit a target with them. Fire can also be projected from these wings. These wings can also be used defensively, by blocking and melting any incoming attacks.
• Ash Bomb: The user conjurers a cloud of ash that then rapidly expands, obscuring all vision in the area. This can be used for a quick getaway, or cover to land a deadly hit. This is why he keeps those goggles on hand at all times.
• Phoenix Healing: The user can use enhancement to somewhat heal themselves. While it's not nearly as powerful as natural enhancers, it can be used to close wounds or repair very small fractures.

Limits: The time that this can be used isn’t very long. The length that the user can use these wings are proportional to how large they make them/how much fire they choose to project. If they keep the wings small/ don’t use the fire projection ability, they can last up to 10 minutes. But if the wings are very large, and lots of fire is emitted, they will only last a few minutes. After the time limit is up, the wings flare out in a bright flash, and a huge ash cloud is emitted, impairing the user’s vision for an amount of time. The use of this Hatsu also has a 10 minute cool-down before it can be used again.

Note: With extensive training, the user of this Hatsu could also extend the time that these flames would last. As of now, Blitz could only have the wings up for a maximum of 10 minutes, and that's if he uses them sparingly. If Blitz submits himself to the tortuous training (which he is, he has burn marks on his entire back) he will gradually be able to maintain the wings for a longer period of time. He will be able to have the wings be larger, last longer, and emit more fire, but it will requires years of brutal training that will result in permanent scarring. The cool down time can also be reduced, but not by nearly as much as the duration of the wings can be increased.

That's my first character build. Let me know what you guys think. He uses the Hatsu I posted earlier. I might also make a character based around Enhancement Hatsu I also posted.

Edit: Changed the Ash Bomb to be conjuration, not transmutation
