Anybody experiencing this bug? Could be related to gunshots sounding near or farther than actual.
One thing I've noticed since the Sanhok patch is very frequently seeing weapons suspended in air not associated with a dead body. Before Sanhok, I would notice it but it usually indicated somebody died recently and their loadout was simply floating above their corpse or crate.
In a squads game that just ended, one teammate was about 50m ahead and we were trailing. I came over a ridge and saw a UMP, frying pan, and grenades all suspended above the ground, positioned the same way they would render on a player. At that same moment, the squad mate we were trailing came on two guys and wiped them with a UMP. His fight was out of my line of sight BUT the free floating UMP actually fired simultaneously. Noise, muzzle flash, all of it. It caught me off guard immediately and I reacted ready to fight because it sound that close.
I believe these free floating weapons I'm seeing, and maybe you guys too, are sort of captured states happening during player movement that are somehow still connected to their actions. It could also tie into the reports of directional sound being messed up. Theoretically, you could be hearing shots and seeing shots right beside you but they're representative of a player elsewhere who passed through that spot earlier.
I tried to capture the replay but messed up by turning replay off but I'm curious if anyone else has noticed something similar.
