Please help with my new leopard gecko!!
Hi I recently got a baby leopard gecko about 1.5 months ago. He's my very first reptile :) My problem is, I've been hesitant to buy a heat pad since I've read online about the pad overheating and killing some reptiles. I currently use a day light and a red light for its day/night cycle. I've also read online that lights are bad for their eyes and can potentially cause blindness :( what should i do?? Is there a safe light that I can use?? Or should I just ditch the lights altogether and just use a heating pad? Thanks so much for all your input and suggestions!
-On a side note i have him on reptile carpet, poops and eats normally. Air temperature is about 80°F and floor temperature is 90°F. He has a hot hide and a cold/humid hide with sphagnum moss in it. He's shed twice already with no issues.
