How to carry any catches on public transport

Hello,

I've recently tried to get into fishing and was wondering how would I carry any legal sized catches home. I don't have a car so I am restricted to travelling to fishing spots via public transport. Would the waterproof seal-able bucket things I find online be enough let me hop on a train without fouling the air?

I will be fishing in the Sydney region in Australia and, unless I misread the fishing regulations, I can't fillet the fish into smaller and easier to manage chunks while near the fishing spots as to be able to prove the fish is of legal size.
