Differences between the original 1987 Doofus and his 2017 reboot counterpart

The difference between the two doofus is that the original Doofus was a lovable guy and an ally to Huey,Dewey and Louie and is friend to Launchpad ,The 2017 doofus however is an antagonist who is a psychopathic rich kid and does whatever he wants and keeps things by himself especially when he trapped Louie as his prisoner .

Perhaps the reason why the 2017 Doofus is unlike the original and is now a villain is that co-creator of Ducktales (2017) Frank Angones said that he along with his fellow co-creator Matt Youngberg didn't like the original one from the original series and there isn't a huge fanbase revolve around him (unlike the bellum part from the 2016 PPG reboot)

I guess the 1987 viewers don't like that character which is why he never appeared after the first season of the 1987 series and that his 2017 version become a villain and also Frank said the 2017 Doofus is inspired from Anthony from the Twilight zone episode It's a Good Life.

I mean to tell you the truth honestly I am okay with the original Doofus in the 1987 series since he is kind of an ally to the 1987 Huey,Dewey and Louie .Though I maybe a bit shocked about the 2017 Doofus into an antagonist one but strangely I am okay with this one especially about his insane psychopathic behaviour which make 2017 Louie find him creepy and scary including 2017 Dewey who screamed when 2017 Doofus is about to keep him like he almost did to 2017 Louie .
