What Itsuno did to "save" DMC2

Fluff

It's a well known fact that Itsuno was brought in to salvage DMC2 with only a few months left of development. I want to discuss what it was he might have achieved.

It's my belief that he doubled down on on optimization and quality assurance. Since the game was probably feature complete already, all he could do was cut missions that didn't work or polish what was there.

I haven't played DMC2 extensively (thank Christ), but it doesn't feel poorly made on the technical side. It runs as it should and doesn't let you jump out of bounds or crash. It might be unfair to the rest of the staff to attribute this to Itsuno, but the jump from 2 to 3 has to mean something, right?
