Can anyone else not 'hear' sharp keys, and only hear the enharmonic flat equivalent?
I've been playing music for nearly 20 years. Never had an issue identifying notes themselves.
I do ear training every single morning and love it, but whenever I'm presented with a D♯ or A♯ scale, in my mind the first thing that I identify is E♭ and B♭! It actually takes me a couple of times of playing the flat note in my mind to actually be able to adjust. Sometimes I can't adjust at all.
I don't know if this has anything to do with me learnign most of my playing, solfege and theory in Spanish (my first language), and I don't find it an issue at all, since they are enharmonic equivalents. Just thought it was curious and wanted to see if anyone experienced the same thing!
