Williams story this season | Profiles of WW visitors are corruptions in themselves
A two for one special...this week only!
I really thought Williams story would play out differently. I did think he was a host in a simulation but I thought the that the door would be a new state of consciousness he had to enter which would allow him to reconcile his new physical state and exist in the real world as a host. By he accepting the fact that he was a host I had imagined that he was Fords chess piece to help ensure the hosts survival.
It was disappointing to watch the post credits and learn that his experiences in the Park didn’t change him, it’s almost as if there is nothing left to his character because we already know where he is going to end - a tool for the hosts in the future,
On the corruption...I keep going back to episode 9 where William mentions the quote about Plutarch is a corruption. I think that all the “written accounts” of the parks visitors are corruptions. We are creatures that make choices depending on the context we are in and there are different aspects of our personas that express themselves based on our situation and environment. I’m a very different person at home than I am at work, does that mean my true self is who I am at home or at work? No I am a composite of all those. There are pivotal moments in my life that have occurred in both places that have changed who I am. If a profile of my persona was built just using either one you’d have two very different profiles.
I know that they tried to account for this in the story when the A.I was walking Dolores and Bernard through the process it used to build James Delos but it never went anywhere.
