Ghost
When I was thirteen
I decided to play a dangerous game
I had tucked my voice so far into my heart
That when I went searching for it the next day
I had forgotten where I had placed it
So for far too many years
I borrowed other voices instead, swallowed them whole
But they never tasted as sweet as the one I'd always known
Somewhere inside I felt my voice slowly die
Though there were rare nights where it flew its way out
And at last it revealed myself
To those it trusted most
My little friendly ghost
I’m done playing a pointless game
It's time to bring you back to life
