Canadian Summer
There it is,
there it goes,
the wind blows,
nothing grows.
Fireworks in the night sky,
blast goodbye,
vanish,
up in smoke.
This cruel joke,
never forgotten,
loving thoughts,
gone rotten.
Mind-wipe overnight,
leave that in hindsight.
A familiar frostbite,
I came to love,
melted away,
like Canadian summer.
Bricked the entrance,
boarded the windows,
now I'm left to wonder,
what we could've been.
Did I lock the door?
