Does anyone know what’s up with those injuries some of the wrestlers have on their right shoulders? I see it on tochinoshin right now and I have seen it on others before. I think hokutofuji had it to a while back. Edit- looking at day 3 arawashi has it too.

I'm with wuzzle23 that it's just a cut from a fingernail or tooth from a tachiai.
How funny. My husband and i have noticed the same thing. We are super curious about it.
The best guess from what I've seen is they're abrasions from repeated tachi-ais. They're about where their opponent's head/chin would make contact.
