To Fill

to give up —
like a length of rope
down a well to draw up down
a well to draw up a well to draw
down a well. down
and down and
down a well
and.

to have lost —
like a mourning dove
calling to them and calling them to
call them to just call them and. this
morning is calling but
morning is morning and morning.

to seek still —
like the dusky night
and dining in
between the black
coffee and sugar tin.
