Bright Night

The sun is to set

To give way for anew

Night and day, a stellar duet

Hues of black, purple, and blue

/

The cratered crescent rises

Of untapped splendor

The cloud then apologizes

And reveals an astral blender

/

Cosmos of all shapes and sizes

Unconcerned with blue sky

With many bizzare surprises

It’s wonder, we can’t deny

/

Beyond our world

The sea of color arises

The Milky Way with arms curled

It’s beauty, the sun despises

/

But both entangled in celestial flesh

Soon the night will roar

For now, to beam afresh

The sun is to soar
