[TOMT] [video] A scene where two people are making a music video and one begins to re-enact the knife-fight scene from "beat it" and the other one flips out.

Guessing from how old the memory feels, and shows I've watched, it could be from Community, Brooklyn 99, maybe even SNL I'm not sure. Jason Mantzoukas may have been in the skit. As the two people sing they get their hands tied together which Guy 1 doesn't seem to notice much until Guy 2 pulls out a switchblade. Guy 1 freaks out and Guy 2 says "I thought we were doing 'Beat It'".
