The commas are mainly for rhythm, while the dashes were thrown in a bit last minute to reinforce certain enjambments (sun, scin (skin,) and heave.) I should have done it with more enjambments (like "slo" to suggest "slow") but I overlooked that, definitely a mistake on my part.

The main point of this was to see if I could create something meaningful with limitations, it was an active choice.

Edit: the "o" in orange enjambed was a bit of a risky choice just to convey the shape of the sun while also having "range" in there

First, feedback and poetry is subjective. What works for me my not work for you and vice-versa.
Second, when I personally think about poetry I try to have some musicality or rhythm to it. It flows and drips off your tongue. 

With regards to your poem, I like the imagery you are conveying to the reader about the sun. I like that you are challenging yourself with the use of adjectives, but even thought this is a goal of the poem don’t place limits on yourself yourself. Be truly limitless.

Other notes... what is going on with your use of punctuation? Not that it’s wrong (periods, commas, dashes), just didn’t know if they served a purpose or not. Are these deliberate breaks?

Wow! I love interesting challenges for writing poetry, and I think it can lead to some shocking creativity. Really good job here. When I look at a sunset, my feelings really can only be explained through adjectives and colors and wordless emotions. Its a tough image to convey through poetry, but I think you did a good job. I love the line breaks, they create multiple meaning within each word and set of words: "stark skin-" and "shimmering o" and so on. Also, not sure if it was on purpose, but have "ly" at the end makes me think of "love you," which adds to the depth of the poem. My only critique would be to get rid of "sunburst." As this is a poem about a sunrise, I think it would be more powerful to leave any direct reference out of it and let people feel what all those words mean when added together. Thanks for sharing!
