Last week my engine overheated and got hydro locked. When I found water in the cylinders, I assumed it was a head gasket or cracked block/head. Thankfully, u/justphiltoday pointed out that i may have just sucked water in through the exhaust. Sure enough, compression was fine in all cylinders and it started up once We got the water out.
This weekend I did and oil change and replaced the impeller. The impeller itself looked fine except for some chaffing that looked like it was from the lack of water leading up to the overheat. The tube that conveys the water to the upper half was completely melted however.
