hahahaha Morality
Winding paths and winded side-thoughts.
Uncanny apartments uplifting dozens of eyes.
Trotting the tempestuous sidewalk
Washed in waves of college attendants.
Ignoring homeless eyes begging for human recognition.
Affixing my hair and spine straight and in-line.
Surfing upon perceived compliments of others’ regard
Like a leeching fire thieving oxygen from the room.
“The highest praises from on-high!”
“Affirmations from below dirty my reflection.”
--
Submissive, ignorant, loving people postured about
The city. Hands over their eyes and
Hearts narrowed toward the sun.
Rigid indifference is the greatest cause of suffering.
Who would you care for if what you thought of “them” was nothing?
Otherization: The colossus stamping away animal
Liberation: A dream, sedated and sad, bitterly enduring
Damnation: Some life, nefariously distant, impotently weeping.
“It is certainly hard to altruate in all this heat!”
“Oh, me? I could never go vegan. I simply love meat.”
--
I don’t know, man. Clearly the average person
isn’t so vain as described within the first stanza.
However, when considering the suffering of humans
and animals, “empathy gap” is a misnomer. A more
correct phrase would be “empathy chasm.” Few regard
murder, torture, or slavery to be defensible.
When levied against humans, at least.
Floating atop the collegiate crowd, “I am vegan, hear
Me roar” similarly surfing my lips. “Get off me, faggot.”
Passivity is my passion. I wish I could. My voice is the only one they have.

Probably divisive - sorry about that.
I really enjoy messing with the traditional structure of poems so I slammed a paragraph in this one.
The original formatting of this poem is to indent every line other than the lines contained in the 'paragraph' (the first seven lines of the third stanza).
Thanks for reading!
