On the apron at my home airport of KIWI. Unfortunately the pilot and a passenger were killed when this plane crashed shortly after takeoff almost ten years ago. I have the faintest memories of sitting in the cockpit and flipping switches when I shouldn't have been. Unfortunately never got to go up in it, but in hindsight that might've been the safer thing.

I remember dreaming of getting a PPL and then getting something like a Yak or an old T-28. Never will be rich enough, though.

On that note, I caved and bought the Yak with my bonus points. I have an odd relationship with old-fashioned stick-and-rudder pistons.

Don’t give up, yak-52s aren’t all that expensive

Hold on a second how did you manage to use bonus points?!

They’re allowed on the Yak. I could only use $12 of my $26, which was bullshit, but still better than no discount.

I got taken up in a yak-52 by a family friend in Italy years ago. It was great fun. Awesome aircraft.
