     buildings ready for
                        lightning twitch heavy
     prophecies at their tongues thick & toxic
     the snakes overran the temples, prayed...
    (throwastomachtothewind&shoutintoitslining)
     ...for rain for something to grow hissing
     rain beating against the fires this night
     burst into euphoria
                        the tests now complete
    (thisdeserthasnofuture&thereisnothingtosee)
     lizard molting legs
                        i called this progress
     their horse opened into a flashing hunger
     against the city redolent with shadows...
    (digthepitkinintotheearth&pouroutsweetwine)
     ...mother look at your childrens portrait
     the horse breathing fire against the rain
     atomized the clouds
                        marked the fires bound
    (pouroutthewaterintotheflames&shutyoureyes)
     arises from deserts
                        serpents from the dune
     snakes digging from its guts, crawling to  
     the soldiers painted against the wall...
