Validation? Check! Or maybe not.

I post though I might not have much to say

and haven't put in that much time or thought.

I seek approval like it is my drug.

Whenever I'm ignored I feel hurt.

Validation feels like a hug.

Downvotes make me feel less than dirt.

I can't afford to play this little game.

I think I may not be the only one

who feels the thrill of pride or sting of shame.

What have we gained when all is said and done?

I guess I'll need to grow a thicker skin

or else this is a game I will not win.
