The necessary cups

Coffee is like medicine to me.

Lack it-- I'm a ship without a sail.

I've tried to switch it up and drink some tea;

I need to drink my coffee or I fail.

Don't even think of drinking from my pot.

If you do, I might go off the rail.

I tend to drink what some may think a lot.

I'll drink a pot and sometimes even more.

I'll have it warm but I prefer it hot.

When it is gone, I go straight to the store.

It's brewing for me even as I write.

Oh look, it's done! I think it's time to pour.
